The bond that which is carried......
Through your lifetime you meet that "special" horse that changes the way you view your life and the special connection that you have with that one special horse! Betty was in need of her own person as she was in desperate need of love and attention. Kindness and compassion as nobody had taken the time to show her exactly this! By doing this with her she was able to see the fact that there was somebody in life that was able to help her heal all of the old wounds that she was carrying around with her! I was that special person that was able to help her do this! Working with her through her fears and establishing the leader that I was able to be with her, she was able to look to me and see that there was no way on this earth that I would ever let anything hurt her! Doing the most simple of tasks is a way that I let her know that every-time I spend time with her I do not need her to do a heavy workout routine! Munching grass and the sun-shinning warming her fur is a peaceful activity and will help her to enforce a positive response and in turn positive results! Making this something that she can look forward to and not run away from every-time she sees me! Letting her know how very special she is to me and undeniable love that we share with one another. The safe environment that she can feel with me, and the safeness that with which I can feel with her. It takes a special kind of person to work with a special horse as Betty there are not many people that will understand her actions, acting in a way that she can defend herself from being hurt. If she realizes that there is a way to still be respectful of one another but to not punish in a way that can cause your horse pain! I find that the partnership between a human and their horse can teach valuable life lessons in both lives of each other! I feel that many people when they work with horses miss this by a landslide and they don't seem to understand what it really means. Hopefully this post will help you to understand the key to doing things through positive reinforcement! I love my horse more than words can say, and without her I would not be able to learn as many things as I have and to that which inspired my journey into earning my degree through veterinary medicine! :)
